The Project
A commercial warehouse project at Middlewich in Cheshire. The 1.5 million square foot development is close to Junction 18 of the M6 hence the snappy title Ma6nitude – see what they did there?
What we did
We worked seamlessly with both the stabilisation and earthworks contractor whom we have teamed up with numerous times. The net zero carbon in construction project involved two warehouse units of 149,000sq.ft. and 41,000sq.ft. The project required 10% CBR structural fill with high end compaction requirements and strength. The volumes, areas and requirements for the finished product were; 10% CBR Fill volume = 4,486cu.m / 15% CBR building area = 16,156sq.m / 30% CBR externals area = 14,599sq.m.
Our clients get support, not just data – enabling us to differ from others by adding value early on in the project. We conducted a range of stabilisation testing including on site control testing such as pulverisation and laboratory trial mix designs including Frost Heave. Working in partnership with the client, TD Construction Testing Ltd provided site and laboratory testing to support quality, compliance, and progress on site.
