Port Loop – Phases 1 – 4, Birmingham
The Project
The contract was for the enabling works at Port Loop, to prepare the site for the construction of over 100 modular homes, rejuvenating the local community in Ladywood. The 64,000m2 site design, construction and completion of civil engineering works in preparation to provide a plateau to the developer for a significant residential development in Birmingham city centre.
What we did
Programme comprised of demolition, site remediation of contaminated soils, canal wall improvements and restoration followed by drainage connection and completion with section 278 works. The whole site has been remediated and reconstructed to a 3m depth with provision of a minimum of 1m clean cap for residential contractor works to commence.
TD Construction Testing Ltd supported the client by delivering accurate site and laboratory testing, helping to ensure compliance and reduce the risk of rework. Attention to detail throughout the scheme allowed us to work with the client to provide solutions at every stage.
