Doha Metro System – Red Line North Underground
The Project
The first underground metro system of Qatar – The “Red Line North Underground” extends in a northerly direction from the station of Mushaireb, for a length of approximately 13 km through 7 new underground stations. The overall route develops entirely in an urban environment and crosses the Financial District of Doha West Bay.
What we did
The project involved the excavation of two parallel tunnels, one in each direction, approximately 11.6 km long with an internal diameter of approximately 6.17m lined with reinforced fiber prefabricated segments. To build it, 4 EPB (Earth Pressure Balance Type) TBMs were used to excavate the tunnels.
TD Construction Testing Ltd supported the client by delivering consultancy over the provision of concrete to the large scale project linked to the 2022 Fifa World Cup. We needed to ensure compliance and performance for the project.
